We placed one of our classic songs, "Dreamboat" by Alma Cogan, in £100 million Netflix series, The Crown. It capitalises on the American appetite for upper-class Britishness, in what many are saying Netflix's most ambitious project yet. The 1956 song, written by Jack Hoffman, was number one in the UK singles chart that year, very fitting for setting the scene of Queen Elizabeth's early reign.
Another fine addition to the Chelsea catalogue is the critically acclaimed Israeli drama "Hostages", which has recently come to BBC4. We'll be taking care of composers, Alon Cohen and Roy Nassee's publishing Worldwide ex-Israel. The Guardian writes some very kind words about it in the link below.
Mr Iommi has very successfully tried his hand music for picture by writing for the hit US TV show 'CSI'. Tony Iommi issued this update on his website: "People have been asking what exactly I'm doing at the moment. Well, I'm getting back in the studio, having tried to make myself rest after the tours. I'm writing, mostly just putting ideas down rather than complete songs. I like to create all sorts of moods with my music and then decide later how they might be used. One specific piece, though, is for the 'CSI' ['Crime Scene Investigation'] TV series that will be aired in the U.S. on November 9th. I was asked if I'd be interested, so I had a look at the footage and came up with an idea they seemed to like. It's not very long, but it was different working with images rather than just music. I'd certainly be up for doing more."
Chelsea Music have added the prestigious Italian catalogue AlaBianca Publishing for UK representation, featuring many songs from well known movies, including the Oscar winning The Great Beauty and music for the BBC documentary on Amanda Knox. In other exciting news, we now represent the music from the hugely successful Danish TV series, The Killing (Forbrydelsen). Chelsea have also signed the outstanding young talented singer songwriter Joni Fuller for the World.
