American jazz alto saxophinist and composer, Paul Desmond, is best known for his work with the Dave Brubeck Quartet and composing they're biggest hit 'Take Five'. In addition to his work with Brubeck, he led several groups and collaborated with Gerry Mulligan, Chet Baker, Jim Hall, and Ed Bickert. Chelsea have started representing his personal publishing catalogue which includes the smooth number above 'Bossa Antigua'.
Chelsea are now representing Harlan Howard's catalogue for the UK. Harlan's was a prolific Nashville country music writer with a career spanning six decades. Among the songs in this catalogue is the great 'Blue Highway' performed above Neil Diamind and Chet Atkins.

We placed one of our classic songs, "Dreamboat" by Alma Cogan, in £100 million Netflix series, The Crown. It capitalises on the American appetite for upper-class Britishness, in what many are saying Netflix's most ambitious project yet. The 1956 song, written by Jack Hoffman, was number one in the UK singles chart that year, very fitting for setting the scene of Queen Elizabeth's early reign.
Yet another string to the Chelsea bow is the representation of jazz legend, John Handy, catalogues. We now represent the Hard Work and Veda Music catalogues in Europe, which feature many great jazz numbers, including the Jazz-Blues classic "Hard Work".
Our first acquisition of the 2016 is the Weems catalogue, predominantly Mason Williams written songs featuring the above worldwide hit, the 1968 novelty song Esther & Abi Ofarim "Cinderella Rockefella", and "Classical Gas" (below) a baroque pop/classical guitar hit of the same year performed by the man himself amongst many other stars.
The upcoming film "I Believe in Miracles", which tells the real-life story of Nottingham Forest's 1979 European Cup win, will use the exceedingly funky General Johnson song "Temperature Risin'" from our catalogue.
The film has received great reviews in the critics' private showings and is set to premiere in Forest's home ground itself on 4th October. It will hit the cinemas for the general public on 9th October.
Another fine addition to the Chelsea catalogue is the critically acclaimed Israeli drama "Hostages", which has recently come to BBC4. We'll be taking care of composers, Alon Cohen and Roy Nassee's publishing Worldwide ex-Israel. The Guardian writes some very kind words about it in the link below.
Chelsea Music are proud to announce the signing of classic Italian song "Marina". The song was written and performed by Rocco Granata originally but has since been covered by the likes of Dean Martin, Gipsy Kings and Andre Rieu.
Very happy to announce the placement of Gipsy King's classic "Bamboleo" in an ad by Mccann Manchester for the clothes and fashion company JD Williams.
The legend that is Bob Dylan has released his album "Shadows In The Night" covering classic standards, two of which are Chelsea Music represented. It made number 1 in the UK album charts! We are pleased to announce the synchronisation of the Bill Withers' "Lovely Day" and Ottawan's "D.I.S.C.O." with a couple of ads. Haven Holidays came calling for "Lovely Day", which was tastefully covered by the talented Nathan Watson. "D.I.S.C.O." was aptly rerecorded to feature a chorus chanting "B.I.N.G.O." for Wink Bingo's new ad campaign.
Mr Iommi has very successfully tried his hand music for picture by writing for the hit US TV show 'CSI'. Tony Iommi issued this update on his website: "People have been asking what exactly I'm doing at the moment. Well, I'm getting back in the studio, having tried to make myself rest after the tours. I'm writing, mostly just putting ideas down rather than complete songs. I like to create all sorts of moods with my music and then decide later how they might be used. One specific piece, though, is for the 'CSI' ['Crime Scene Investigation'] TV series that will be aired in the U.S. on November 9th. I was asked if I'd be interested, so I had a look at the footage and came up with an idea they seemed to like. It's not very long, but it was different working with images rather than just music. I'd certainly be up for doing more."
Another wonderful album released by one of our represented writers, Alfie Boe. With his 8th album "Serenata" sitting at 14th in the UK albums chart currently.
Chelsea Music are proud to announce the representation of Nat King Cole family's publishing interests for the world, excluding the USA and Canada. Also new to our representation in the UK is Steven Bach publishing, from the group Empire Of the Sun with the huge hit "Alive".
Chelsea Music have added the prestigious Italian catalogue AlaBianca Publishing for UK representation, featuring many songs from well known movies, including the Oscar winning The Great Beauty and music for the BBC documentary on Amanda Knox.
